Shebbear College

Combined Co-education School in Beaworthy, Devon

Shebbear College is a thriving boarding and day school for boys and girls aged 4 to 18. Our 85-acre campus is situated in the beautiful Devon countryside, close to Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks and the picturesque surfing beaches of the North Cornwall coast. Life at Shebbear is busy, filled with academic purpose, cocurricular activity, creative discovery and outdoor adventure.

We are thrilled to have been graded ‘EXCELLENT’ - the highest possible grade – in our recent Inspection by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) for both key outcomes for Educational Quality: the pupils’ academic and other achievements; and the pupils’ personal development. This is an extremely impressive achievement and places Shebbear College as the top Independent School in the local area based on ISI ratings.

Our smaller size and passionate, caring teachers mean that at Shebbear College we can focus on each individual pupil, teaching them in the way that they learn best. We are a non-selective school and our pupils are encouraged to challenge themselves, take risks, be innovative, enjoy learning and have the confidence to try new things. As a result, they consistently excel in public examinations, outperforming national trends and achieving high academic results.

We offer a number of scholarships and allowances to help with school fees, including fee discounts for members of the British Police and Armed Forces
