Steyning Grammar School

State Co-educational Boarding and Day in Steyning, West Sussex

Established in 1614, Steyning Grammar School is a vibrant and exciting Church of England day and boarding school. Part of the Bohunt Education Trust, we are a dynamic learning community whose ethos is encapsulated by three simple words: enjoy, respect, achieve. Our students benefit from the vast opportunities of an 11–18 comprehensive school. Our aim is that every student flourishes and our success is based on an approach which combines the highest expectations with a sensitivity to learners’ individual needs. Our Ofsted ‘Outstanding’-rated boarding offers an affordable and family oriented environment where wellbeing is prioritised.

Students are known and supported, flourishing personally, socially and educationally as they grow in independence. Boarding at SGS offers flexible boarding options and combines student-centred pastoral excellence, high-quality teaching, a full weekend enrichment programme (included in the boarding fee) and a strong sense of community. We are proud of our long-standing support for children from a wide variety of backgrounds, both UK based and overseas.

For British Armed Forces Families we offer priority for admission, recognising the importance of stability; Forces Families receive priority in the admissions process. Families will benefit from a UK based security deposit amount wherever they are stationed around the world and there are no exeat weekends, students can remain in boarding every term time weekend.
