King’s College is a co-educational boarding school that comprises King’s Prep for children from nursery to Year 8 and King’s College senior school from Year 9 to Sixth Form.
The schools are just two-hours from London and situated on separate sites in the heart of the Somerset countryside.
King’s College regularly leads the county tables in both GCSE and A-level results, and as well as academic excellence, the breadth of sport and other co-curricular activities are unparalleled for a school of King’s size. There is a large boarding community with dedicated staff to help pupils settle into the King’s family. Each boarding house has a Houseparent, alongside a Matron and team of staff who look after the pastoral needs of the children in their care.
Each combines traditional values with state-of-the-art facilities and benefits from an arts centre, specialist design technology workshops and art rooms, fully equipped science faculties, tennis courts, a specialist library, individual music practice rooms, dedicated sports facilities, a heated swimming pool, IT suites and acres of sports fields and woodlands. Pupils also benefit from the King’s Equestrian Centre, where they can ride for recreation or as part of the successful equestrian team.
The schools are small enough to be friendly and yet large enough to compete nationally. A good work ethic and small class sizes help sustain progress, and specialist teaching is the norm, with great emphasis placed on developing the individual: kindness, consideration, courtesy and respect for one another.
