Stonar has a unique charm and sense of calm contentedness. There is a freedom from negative social pressures at Stonar and children feel free to be themselves, developing positive self-esteem and confidence. Stonar pupils are happy, kind and enthusiastic. They work hard, achieve highly and enjoy full participation in a positively competitive environment, enabling them to achieve their full potential. In 2022 Stonar was placed in the top 5% of schools for valued added at both GCSE and A Level. The School is situated on an 80 acre rural site, in between Bath and Chippenham, with pupils benefitting from the vast grounds to enjoy sport, outdoor education and the busy weekend and evening activities programme. Fifty percent of pupils make use of the School’s own world-class onsite equestrian centre, from complete beginners to experienced competition riders.
Three boarding houses are a home-from-home for the 130 full boarders and offer a friendly and down to earth environment, where pupils enjoy friendships with pupils of all ages and their happiness and wellbeing are paramount. Academically, the schools offers particular strengths in the Sciences, Creative Arts and Computer Science. As part of the international Globeducate group, pupils benefit from a variety of opportunities to attend events in Europe which, combined with our progressive curriculum, ensures that everyone develops a global outlook.
