King’s Bruton

Co-educational boarding and day in Bruton, Somerset

King’s Bruton is a remarkable school with over 500 years of history, where a strong pastoral ethos sits comfortably alongside academic ambition and exceptional opportunity. Life at King’s is rich and varied, with pupils enjoying a broad, stimulating curriculum within a close-knit and supportive community. This balance is a key strength of the school and one of the reasons families choose us year after year.

We are proud of our consistently strong GCSE, A Level and BTEC results, with the majority of pupils progressing to their first-choice universities. Our CCF is one of the oldest in the country, we have a military band, and more than half of our senior pupils take part in the Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards. Throughout their journey at King’s, pupils are encouraged to respect themselves and those around them, to develop a positive outlook, and to aim high. They leave us confident, grounded and well equipped for life beyond school.

As part of the King’s Bruton and Hazlegrove Prep School Foundation, we offer a busy, happy and dynamic environment and would be delighted to welcome you for a visit. With veterans of the Armed Forces among our staff, King’s has a strong understanding of the particular demands of military life. We work hard to ensure our provision remains accessible to service families while maintaining the highest standards of education and care, including a 25% fee discount for military families.
