At Stamford we have been educating students since 1532. In September 2023 we will be merging Stamford School and Stamford High School to become a fully co-educational school, Stamford School.
This is perhaps the biggest change in the 500-year history of the boys’ school and the 145-year history of the girls’ school. This will be the most exciting, challenging, yet rewarding time in the Schools’ history, reshaped for a brighter, more cohesive future. At the heart of what we offer at Stamford is the opportunity for children to thrive, and to help them become the best version of themselves. Every student at Stamford, from Nursery through to Sixth Form, is encouraged to be an independent thinker.
We want our students to be determined, hard-working and eager to get involved with everything we offer. We enable them to grasp each and every opportunity, and to be the very best they can be both in and out of the classroom. Within a sound framework of pastoral care and continuous development, Stamfordians are filled with the skills and
confidence to face the future as rounded and grounded young adults. At Stamford we give every student the opportunity to thrive; and while our Schools have a long and prestigious heritage, everything we do now is focused on preparing young people to lead happy and fulfilling lives in the 21st Century.
Located in the historic, stone-built town of Stamford, the Schools are easily reached by road and rail. London is just one hour away by train and via the A1, and there are four international airports within an hour and a half’s drive.
