11 to 18, with a happy, purposeful and flourishing community of around 360 pupils (80% boarding, 20% day) and a fine tradition of academic excellence. Located in the heart of Wiltshire, the school prides itself on instilling in its pupils a love of learning and a desire to care for each other, their community and the wider world. St Mary’s is dedicated to developing each pupil’s full potential by providing a nurturing environment in which girls can develop, grow and express themselves. The school is committed to providing girls with an innovative, dynamic, personalised curriculum that will challenge each girl as they grow and develop. GCSE and A Level results are consistently outstanding and the girls make a smooth transition to the university of their choice. The 2024 exam results were excellent with 88% A*/B at A Level. In The Sunday Times Schools’ Guide, Parent Power 2024, St Mary’s Calne was in the top 25 schools in the UK for A Level results.
The school supports girls to achieve their personal best, academically, socially and in the field of extra-curricular activities. Equally important is that St Mary’s girls become life-long learners, acquiring the knowledge, skills and courage to be empowered for the future and ready to make a significant contribution to the world.
As we offer full boarding, with an exciting programme of weekend activities, we are popular with our Forces families. We offer Military Personnel (both serving and reservists) up to a 20% fee reduction through Means Tested Bursaries.
